We are a local, independent online news source focused on East Portland, Oregon.
We believe…
- East Portland is a place worth knowing and loving;
- Trust in the news is low, and that is hurting democracy. Locally-based journalism is the antidote to that deficit of trust;
- It is important that the people who bring you the news of East Portland Voice are the same people you might see in your grocery store or visiting your local park;
- To be a credible news source, accountability and transparency are paramount. We will strive to uphold and hone the way we demonstrate credibility;
- A news story should be actionable as well as informative. You should be able to read an article and understand how this story relates to you and how you can engage in the unfolding conversation;
